Shipping and pre-orders

If the product is listed in stock, it means it will be processed within 2 business days. We then will work with an appropriate courier to get your item to you. If listed for pre-order, the provided month is an estimate of dispatch. There can be times where there are delays, which are out of our control and we will keep you updated if these occur.

Please note couriers will leave the parcel at your door where safe to do so. They will not normally go up stairs or enter your property. Larger items may also come on a pallet.

Bassinet height

The bassinet setting suits newborns until they start rolling, in line with safety guidelines. Its raised height helps reduce parents bending over in the early months.

Cot height

Once your baby is more active, lower the base to cot height. Use this setting until they start trying to climb out.

Toddler bed 1

When your child starts trying to climb out, convert the cot to a toddler bed. It supports their independence with a low, accessible sleep space.

Toddler bed 2

You can further convert the cot by removing 3 of the sides into a mini bed. This means access from both sides and more of a 'bed' feeling.

Toddler bed 3

A minimal bed which will completely eliminate the feeling of being a cot.

Floor bed

To encourage independence the cot can also be used as a floor bed.

Made in Sydney, Australia

When the business first started we were manufacturing locally, having moved manufacturing internationally it was an exciting step for us to bring some of our manufacturing back to Australia after 15 years. Working with Defy, parents themselves, to design something which addressed the pain points we had with our cots. Keeping manufacturing local means we were able to test and prototype, continuously improving the cot.

Unique Colours

No two cots will be identical due to the hand-made nature of the sheets of plastic used to make the cot. Each sheet is made by hand and the percentages of colours are mixed together, and the outcome of how these colours appear will vary with each cot made.

Locally sourced plastic

The plastic used to make the Archie Cot is sourced locally in Australia, from selected streams. It is specifically chosen for it’s properties to be used in a cot. All the plastic is chemically tested to the Australian standards, as well as ensuring it is BPE free.

Every step considered

We aimed to design with you in mind, meaning we considered assembly, conversions and pack down. We know how annoying assembly can be so we made this with strong 'lego' vibes. Designed with cut outs to help pieces slot in together and make assembly even the slightest bit easier for you.

Collaboration with Defy

Working together with Defy to create the Archie Cot—a first-of-its-kind piece made entirely from 100% recycled plastic—was an incredibly special project for both teams. With sustainability at its core, it was just as important to make quality and functionality clear in every detail. Each component is shaped using custom-built tooling, then checked and finished by hand to ensure it meets the highest standard—both in form and feel.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs for more questions

What would have happened to the plastic?

A large percentage of the plastic used would have otherwise been sent to landfill. Each cot uses approximately 70kg of plastic and the process was designed in a way to get the most possible yield out of that plastic. Any material which isn’t used is recycled.

How strong is it?

As part of the standards we test the strength of the cot. It many characteristics it is more flexible and durable than a traditional timber cot, especially soft woods.

Can I choose my own colours?

Unfortunately we can not make custom colours. There is a minimum requirement of the materials we need to buy and we combine production to create efficiencies.

Where do you source the plastic?

The plastic is sourced within Australia and not imported. Currently the majority is coming from waste streams generated by agricultural and warehousing industries. The material is washed, cleaned and then shredded.

Has it passed testing?

Yes, the Archie cot has been tested against the Australian standards (AS/NZS 2172:2003) which includes both physical and chemical testing.
