Why we love it

This is the hardwood version of the chest we (Carla and John) used for our baby, so perhaps we are slightly biased.

  • It doesn’t look like a a piece of baby furniture, we could use it as a standard chest of drawers once they moved to a single bed.
  • The lip on the top is great for change mats but also awesome to prevent items from falling off the chest.
  • The width of the drawers are big enough to hold plenty of nappies.
  • The height, we are a mix of tall and average, it doesn’t feel like we are bending over too much.

Materials and care

Materials

  • Made from sustainably sourced hardwood teak.
  • The drawer bottoms and back panels are engineered timber sheets for strength and to avoid warping.
  • Timber products will naturally have variation from our photos. This is due to the timber itself, screen settings, photo settings.

Care

  • The timber is sealed in a plant based oil (tested to Australian safety standards)
  • Regularly wipe dust away using a soft cloth
  • For deeper cleans use water or a very mild cleaning agent which is suitable for painted surfaces
Shipping and pre-orders

If the product is listed in stock, it means it will be processed within 2 business days. We then will work with an appropriate courier to get your item to you. If listed for pre-order, the provided month is an estimate of dispatch. There can be times where there are delays, which are out of our control and we will keep you updated if these occur.

Please note couriers will leave the parcel at your door where safe to do so. They will not normally go up stairs or enter your property. Larger items may also come on a pallet.

Designed for parents

It felt like most nursery drawers (including ours in the past) were very narrow. It doesn’t really help when you’re powering through nappies, wipes, muslins, onesies and everything else you didn’t realise your baby needs. We used internal organisers and it made life a little bit easier.

Completely considered

The Willow chest doesn’t look like a piece of baby furniture. We intentionally avoided designing it for a nursery, focusing on designing it for a home. The top lip on the chest is intentionally minimal, great for change mats but it also stops items from falling off.

Celebrating teak

No two cuts of teak are ever identical, and that is exactly why we love it. Unlike other options which rely on veneers or faux wood prints, this cot showcases the true, unaltered personality of the tree it came from. As you look across the panels, you will see a beautiful variation of rich golden hues, deep organic lines, and shifting grain patterns that tell the story of the timber's growth. These natural variations aren't flaws, they are the distinct signatures of premium, solid hardwood.

A wonderful collaboration

Designed in collaboration with Skeehan Studio. When we had our idea for designing a cot we wanted to get external design guidance, so we reached out to the team at Skeehan. Based in Canberra, we worked closely with the team (also parents) to create the Willow collection. It was a project of many iterations, factory visits and samples, until we landed on our final product.

Forever piece

Most parents buy this chest of drawers with the intent of using it as a changing space. They very quickly fall in love with the storage options and continue to value the Willow chest long after they stop changing the baby.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs for more questions

Will a change mat fit on the top?

Most change mats will fit on the top of this drawer. We recommend using our Touzy change mat which was designed for our products.

Are the drawers soft close?

Yes, the drawers are designed with soft close drawers.

Is the finish non-toxic?

All the finishes we use have been tested to the Australian standards with the knowledge and assumption children will be around the products.

Why is it more expensive?

The price difference comes down to the raw cost and craftsmanship required for premium hardwood. While standard plantation pine is a softer wood that grows rapidly and is easy to mass-process, genuine teak is a highly dense, slow-growing hardwood. It is exceptionally resilient to dents, scratches, and everyday wear, making it far more durable. Because teak is so solid and heavy, it takes significantly more time, specialized tools, and precise hand-finishing by our makers to sculpt the Willow’s signature curves.
